The Shiv Khori Shrine is situated amidst lush green mountains at 3.5 Kms tracking distance from Ransoo, the base camp of Holy Shrine of Shiv Khori. Ransoo (Tehsil Reasi) is situated at a distance of 80 Kms from Katra (the base camp of Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ) & 110 Kms from Jammu. Buses and light vehicles go upto Ransoo.
 The pilgrims coming to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi can easily club their tour with Shivkhori and can make his Darshan complete by paying obesceince to both Shiva and Shakti. The light Vehicle are available for Ransoo at Katra and Jammu on the rates duly approved by the Tourism Department of Jammu & Kashmir State. Another route to the Shiv Khori Shrine is available from Jammu via Akhnoor-Bhambla. The village Ransoo is at a distance of 6 KMS from the Reasi-Rajouri Road, which branches off from the spot known as Kanda Morh.

The nearest airport is in Jammu, which is 56 km from Katra.
- Train
The nearest train station is in Jammu.
- Bus
There are regular buses leaving for the 80 km trip from the central bus stand in Katra to Shiv Khori (2/3 hrs).
 :: Walking
From Ransoo it is a steep 3.5 km walk. You can rent a horse or be carried up from Katra. You can go up to the cave and back in the same day. It takes about 1 hour to climb up and less than 1 hour to come down.
:: For the ease of Journey the tourist must
- Get permission for the video camera, if interested.
- Check the identity card of the Pithoo, Pony and Palki before hiring them.
- For ease of Journey Travel as light as possible, since all the facilities are available on the track.
- Avoid the use of Polythene bag to protect the environment.
- Throw the waste in the waste-boxes available.
- Walk on the track only and enjoy the beauty of the nature. Wrong track can lead to disastrous results.
- While leaving for the Darshan of the Holy Shrine, deposit your belongings at the clock rooms and get the receipt.
- Donations are to be made at the donation counters and get the receipt duly signed.
